It's in His Kiss

Bugsy shows affecton by kissing! If he adores you, whether you're a human or another doggy (but no cats!), he'll swoop in for a wet one. Like he did with his Ate Jamie-

He especially takes pleasure in stealing kisses from unsuspecting humans. Here he is leaning in for a smooch-

Not only does he love kissing, he also enjoys getting kisses! See him getting smothered with Tita Ging's kisses (and loving every minute of it)-

If this were a video, you'd have seen how Bugsy jumped right up to Ninang Chu's face and kissed her for as long as she'd allow-

Right off the bat, we already knew he was a kisser. This was taken on Bugsy's first day home, timidly reaching for a lip to cheek connection.

If you ever meet Bugsy, watch out, he aims straight for the lips.

Look, Bugsy loves kisses so much he'd even do it through glass!

Bribing Bugsy With Treats

Because Bugsy had an eye infection (he's well now, yay!), he needed antibiotics and eyedrops for a week. The first day of medicines was a real challenge. The pup wouldn't sit still and cried like a baby when his face was held in place for the eyedrops. It looked like a terrible week ahead until we discovered a magical cure, a.k.a treats.

Watch how easy it is to give a puppy eyedrops with the help of a little bribery with bacon-flavored dog biscuits:

Yep, that's his human pops talking to Bugsy like he's a baby. Lulz.

One Saturday Morning

We had to go to the vet because there was a bump on my face very near my eye and it was reaaally itchy (it hurt too when I scratched it). So after taking a bath, we all trooped to the car to head over to the clinic to have it looked at by them profeshnals (that's what pops said).
Can summady teach me how to drive?
They wouldn't let me drive and made me stay in the backseat instead.I was too excited to complain (I usually ride shotgun). I mean, sure, we're going to a doctor, but I'm not afraid of them. They're actually nice to me (plus, I'm brave) (and I get treats aftewards).
The backseat isn't so bad. I got all this room.
I was just super excited to be on a trip! A TRIP! I might get to meet a ladypup who'll be the love of my life. You know, someone who'll like me back too (unlike other ladypups I know. Bailey, I'm looking at you). Before all that could happen, we had to stop by the gasoline station to gas up.
I wanted to go outside but I was stuck in the car. I need opposable thumbs.
Then we finally got to the clinic and there were A LOT OF LADYPUPS! They were all so pretty, I could barely contain my excitement (there were boypups too, but I didn't care. I was easily the cutest) (and the bravest).
I had a major crush on this one. Isn't she cute?
I didn't even notice how long we waited in line to get checked because of all the new (girl)friends I made!

Oh you're wondering what the vet said? I'm not sick or anything, but the bump thing had to be popped because it was filled with water and might get infected. They just put some ointment on it and gave me lots of treats and everything's fine.

I wonder where we're going next week. Hmm..

In Time for Summer

Whew, it's really hot these days, isn't it? It's a good thing that I got another furcut just in time for this heatwave. Just before my human left (she explained that she has to live in France for work for a little bit), we went to Pet Studio to have my fur trimmed really short. It's the shortest cut I've had yet! I look like this now-
With less hair, but I'm still cute! Right? RIGHT!
They cut off a whole bunch of my fur and I like it. It's cooler and it's much easier to walk around and I can scratch everything that needs to be scratched!

Here I am being sleepy in the car (It's not my fault, the aircon was blowing cool air straight to my face)
Can't keep my eyes openzzzzzzzzz...
And here's another photo of me in my new summer cut and my human says it's like I have a Hitler 'stache.
I don't look like Hitler, do I?
While my human is away I'm staying with pops and his family. Although I miss her, I'm really enjoying my vacation with my new family here (Guys, I have a new friend! And she's a girl! *wink*).Tell you more about it later!

Ladies, I Just Had a Furcut at Pet Studio *wink*

Hi guys! Long time no ruff, I know. Been a busy bee (pup, but you know what I mean). My days get pretty full from chasing cats, rats, leaves, twigs, and other whathaveyous. Whew. Between playing, sleeping, and eating, I barely get the chance to blog. But last Saturday, I had a 'first' that I kinda want to tell you all about.

Pet Studio at BF Paranaque
So last weekend, my humans (who are supposed to take me out to play in new places on Saturdays) brought me to Pet Studio over BF Paranaque to get a furcut. I've been there before and I really like the place, I always get new treats after going there. This time, we didn't get treats for me. They were talking about 'grooming' and a few minutes later, the new dude mum kept calling 'kuya' brought me inside a small room.

He started trimming my facial fur!
When we were inside, Kuya put me down on a table and started cutting my facial fur. I felt like a grown up then (I had facial fur!). Then, to my chagrin, Kuya started giving me a bath! My human mum does it to me too often and while it isn't so bad when she does it, I don't like it all that much. It's worse when a stranger starts rubbing you with sweet smelling shampoo and then hosing you down with water!

Then I took a bath (boo!)
After the bath, 'kuya' dried my fur off with a strong blowdrier and I was just happy that the bath was over (at home, it's finished after I've been dried and combed). It turned out we weren't done yet. Soon after, kuya started trimming the fur on my paws, my ears and then my privates (I was shy but I had no choice)!

And them some trimming around the paws and my privates!
Kuya was pretty nice (although it hurt when he pulled out the hair in my ear). He kept singing some cheesy love song to me all throughout the ordeal (it kinda helped me take my mind off what he was doing). When all the fur trimming was done, he spritzed my mouth with some breath freshener and then sprayed me with a liberal amount of dog cologne (which smelled good). (details at the bottom of the page, provided by mum)

Ear-fur trimming kinda hurt
By then, I was ready to meet all the ladies. I looked so good and got compliments from everybody who saw me while we were having a snack at Santana Grove (they all said I was handsome). I was waiting for the hordes of female fans come flocking to me as soon as they smelled my manly scent and new haircut.

Mum, how can I get the ladies if I have PINK bows on my fur?!
I forgot that I had pink bows on my newly cut fur. PINK?! Come on mum. I let you put ribbon on my hair, at least make them blue or green or black or any other color but pink. So far, with it on, I've had zero success with the ladies. But it's okay, I'll just have to win them over with my charming personality, natural good looks, and raw sex appeal instead.

See now, blue is much better
Since then, I switched to blue hair thingos and I think it looks much better. Having a haircut isn't so bad after all, it's actually pretty nice. I've been told I'm handsome a dozen times (6 times, it was mum) and well, I smell pretty darned good. Now if only I could find me a girlfriend.

Still no luck with the ladies

Help Japan, Don't Forget The Animals

I heard that a giant wave of water destroyed everything in Japan including cars and houses and buildings and plants and animals and even people. The videos I watched with my mum were really horrible to see (I covered my eyes in some parts), like a nightmare or a Michael Bay movie.

I know I'd be very, very scared if it happens here (not because I'm afraid of water, I'm not!). If we have a tsunami, I will probably drown because I don't know how to swim. If I survive, I might get separated from my family and then I wouldn't know where to go, what to do or where to find them.
I would be sad too if I lost my house and my friend

And then I started thinking about all the animals in Japan who are in that situation (like the poor guy in the video) and how scared they must be. Some of them might even be injured and most are probably lost and don't know what to do next.

Rescued!
I'm glad to read stories of animals being rescued and returned to their owners. Thank you to everyone who didn't forget to help animals, I'm really thankful for people like you (you guys are awesome!).

He found his dad!

I think there are still a lot more animals out there in Japan who have lost a home or a friend or is injured. Let's please, please, please help them. I compiled a list of links below of how you can help.

Thank you very much everybody!

Rescue Animals in Japan- HOW YOU CAN HELP

Bugsy is a Big Boy

Bugsy needed deworming shots last weekend, so we set off for Happy Hayop to get them, only to find out that the clinic is closed on Sunday afternoons.

Since we were in the area anyway, we decided to stop over at our favorite pet supplies store, Pet Studio, to get Bugsy a new harness and leash because he had already outgrown his first one.

At the pet store, he met a pretty Japanese Spitz, post-grooming, and promptly fell in crush with the little lady. He wriggled in excitement, talked with her, followed her round and round the store, and tried to hump the dog that was twice his height and size. The lady dog wouldn't have any of it and left in a huff leaving Bugsypup frustrated.
Bugsy's in his new leash and ribbon, chilling next to his latest love interest

We then went on to have a snack at the pet-friendly Santana Grove where Bugsy vented out all his frustrations at his human pops' foot.

My little boypup is now a big boy.

-Bugsy's Human

Once Upon A Time

I was this small (and Mr. Moo was this clean)-

Human pops gave me this blue rubber bone (and I didn't want to share it with anyone else)-

Being towel-dried and then blow-dried after a bath made me very sleepy..

..and stretchy!

I loved making new friends (I still do!)-

The best spot to play is on top of the exerciser (but now I don't fit).

And my favorite activity of all time is being cuddled and tickled by mum.

Bugsy is glad it's the weekend

Bugsy wishes everyone a stupendous weekend! Only, from him it comes out as "RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF!"

Beware of Dog

I've been practicing my growl lately and I really think I've been making a lot of progress with it. My voice is getting bigger and scarier! The garden rats now run for their lives when they hear me bark and growl. But it might be more because I saw them stealing my food so I caught one of them ate it. It didn't taste good at all but at least all the rest of them are now scared at the sight of me.

The next thing I'm working on is driving away those fat cats that like hanging around MY house. Although they're bigger than me, they don't scare me at all (if mum tells you otherwise, do not believe her). They were prowling near the area and meowing like mad last Saturday while mum was cooking. I didn't want them causing any trouble for her so I appointed myself to be her bodyguard and settled myself by her feet, in case the cats decide to come near and attack her.
Me being a fine guard dog

I did a good job of it too. Mum kept calling me her "cute little helper" but it really was me being an excellent guard dog. Yup, I kept all the pesky cats at bay! Not one of them dared to come near us because I am tough and ferocious! I know how to growl really loudly now, I even scare myself sometimes. I'm gonna have to talk to mum about getting one of these-

This sign would be perfect to hang on our gate!

-Bugsy, the guard dog

My mum thinks I'm silly, but really, I just wanted to play

I was playing with my humans last Saturday when they brought out a lot of those biscuits they give me when they want me to do something. Now that they think I'm good enough at fetch, they want more tricks. This time, they used the word "stay" a lot, and I know I should keep still and stay where they leave me. That was too easy! I did it the first time, watch me-

That's my human mum talking in the video. See how I'm so awesome and did it the first time? The second time, I didn't do it NOT because I didn't know how to do it. Um, I just didn't.. like the biscuits so much. Yea, that's it! I'd rather run around and play instead of getting treats. I don't like treats at all! Yea, that's right.
